Why Laurel Wilson Is Reframing Menopause as a Time to Thrive

For generations, menopause has been framed as an inevitable decline, leaving many women to quietly endure symptoms that affect their health, careers, relationships, and overall wellbeing. Despite impacting millions worldwide, perimenopause remains one of the least understood transitions in women’s health, with many women struggling to find accurate information or effective support.

Laurel Wilson believes it is time to change that narrative. As a TEDx speaker, certified menopause practitioner, and international women’s health educator, she has launched Thrive During the Transition, a 12 week program designed to help women navigate perimenopause and menopause with confidence, evidence based education, and compassionate guidance.

Meeting Women at a Critical Moment

Growing awareness around menopause has exposed significant gaps in healthcare. Many women report feeling dismissed when seeking medical guidance, while others face confusion caused by misinformation or limited access to hormone therapies and menopause trained providers.

Wilson created Thrive During the Transition to address these challenges with a comprehensive approach that combines hormone education, holistic wellness strategies, and practical support. Rather than encouraging women to simply tolerate symptoms, the program empowers them to understand the physiological and emotional changes taking place while equipping them with tools to improve their quality of life.

The Thrive During the Transition 12 week program is now available as an evergreen program, arriving as menopause becomes an increasingly important public health conversation affecting both healthcare systems and workplaces around the world.

Turning Decades of Expertise Into Action

Wilson brings more than 25 years of experience educating healthcare professionals and families worldwide. Throughout her career, she has developed educational programs that have reached thousands of nurses, midwives, lactation consultants, and other healthcare providers, establishing herself as a trusted voice in women’s health education.

Her latest initiative builds on that foundation by focusing specifically on women navigating midlife. The program reflects her belief that education is one of the most powerful tools for reducing fear and helping women become active participants in their own health.

Research cited by Wilson highlights the urgency of this work. Nearly half of women experience menopause symptoms for years before recognizing what is happening, while more than 67 percent report negative experiences when seeking menopause related healthcare. Thrive During the Transition was created to bridge that gap through practical knowledge, supportive coaching, and a strong sense of community.

Transforming the Midlife Experience

For Wilson, menopause is not an ending but an opportunity for renewal.

“I want women to understand that menopause is not the beginning of the end. It is the beginning of a new chapter that can be just as vibrant, powerful, sensual, joyful, and fulfilling as the decades before it,” she says.

As conversations around women’s health continue to evolve, Wilson hopes more women will replace uncertainty with confidence and move through this life stage feeling informed, supported, and empowered. Through Thrive During the Transition, she is helping redefine what it means to experience midlife, shifting the focus from simply managing symptoms to embracing a future filled with vitality and possibility.
