Murray Sabrin’s Strategy to End Taxes and Supercharge American Philanthropy

In a time of fiscal uncertainty and ballooning national debt, few voices are advocating for real structural change. One of them is Dr. Murray Sabrin—a finance professor turned policy reformer who’s taking aim at what he calls America’s “addiction to taxation.”

With a resume that includes decades in academia, multiple political campaigns, and authorship of six thought-provoking books, Sabrin is now advancing his most ambitious idea yet: MAFI—Make Americans Financially Independent.

“I launched MAFI because I’ve seen how destructive our current system has become,” he explains. “The tax burden, the welfare state, and rising deficits are eroding the economic future of this country.”

An Idea Whose Time Has Come?

Sabrin’s idea is as radical as it is direct: abolish all taxes and allow nonprofits to take over many functions currently performed by the welfare state. In doing so, he believes Americans can regain both their financial and personal independence.

“Nonprofit institutions are often more efficient, more compassionate, and more accountable than government programs,” says Sabrin.

MAFI isn’t just theory. It’s a brand, a strategy, and a public-awareness push—complete with branded merchandise and a growing digital presence.

The Uphill Climb

Still, building the MAFI brand hasn’t been without obstacles. Sabrin notes that while he’s appeared on several media platforms, reaching a broad national audience remains elusive.

“That’s the challenge—getting this message heard in a crowded and noisy media environment,” he says.

Part of that plan includes collaborating with a premier economic think tank and pushing MAFI to the forefront of public policy discussions.

Purpose-Driven Resilience

Juggling advocacy and personal responsibilities hasn’t been easy—particularly with his wife’s recent health challenges. But Sabrin says his mission helps him stay energized and avoid burnout.

“I’ve never been one to give up. Persistence is my strength. MAFI gave me new energy and a purpose that keeps me going every day.”

Advice from the Front Lines

Asked what advice he’d offer budding entrepreneurs or thought leaders, Sabrin doesn’t hesitate.

“Create something bigger than yourself. When your work is about purpose, not just profit, people will notice.”

Looking Forward

The road ahead is full of opportunity. With a potential political campaign on the horizon and new media partnerships in motion, Sabrin sees this next chapter as the most impactful yet.

“MAFI isn’t just my brand—it’s a national conversation. And I’m ready to take it to the next level,” he concludes.
