Originally from the San Fernando de Apure municipality, Fernando Tovar is recognized as one of the most prominent representatives of llanera music, standing out both as a composer and as a singer from an early age.
His passion for music manifested itself at the age of 9, when he won second place in the Children’s Carrusel Festival in honor of Simón Díaz. This event marked the beginning of his musical career, leading him to successfully participate in numerous children’s festivals at the local, regional and national level.
In 1991, he won the Cantaclaro Regional contest, representing the state of Apure, and was awarded “La Voz Popular”. During that same year, he participated in the Festichamo program, presented by maestro Simón Díaz, reaching the final.
Throughout his career, Tovar has taken his music beyond Venezuelan borders, touring countries in Europe and Latin America, proudly representing his country.
In the recording field, Fernando Tovar has released two notable albums: “Yacimiento de Amor” in 2007 and “Dignidad” in 2013. These productions have been acclaimed by critics and the public, consolidating his position as one of the main exponents of the contemporary llanera music.
In addition to his success in the musical field, Tovar has been awarded multiple times with awards such as the “Mara de Oro”, “Gran Águila de Venezuela” and “La Estrella de Venezuela”, recognizing his contribution to the enrichment of the cultural heritage of Venezuela. .
His talent and dedication have also been recognized internationally, receiving nominations at the Premios Latino Music Awards in the categories of “Best Llanera Music Artist” and “Best Llanera Music Song.”
